FEDEMAC would like to inform its Members that on the 9th of March 2017, the German Parliament decided to ban the regular weekly rest in the cabin and impose a fine for this infringement.

FEDEMAC points out that this decision is not yet final and needs to be confirmed in the legislation process, which is expected for 31st of March 2017.

We will be keep monitoring the situation continuously and will inform our Members as soon as new information are available.

In 2016, the German Parliament began discussing a proposal for a law prohibiting drivers from spending the regular weekly rest in the cabin of the truck. This new law follows the footsteps of Belgium and France who adopted theirs over 2 years ago now.
